Mama Coco Nabs “Wrap Product of the Year” In 2024 Baby Innovation Awards Program
The custom of swaddling babies dates back centuries among many cultures. Cocooning a baby in such a manner may lead to longer, sounder sleep by mimicking the confined environment inside the womb. Swaddling has also been shown to reduce the moro "startle" reflex. Since newborns have limited motor control of their arms and legs, when startled, they reflexively sprawl all four limbs out which can jolt them awake.
In addition, research has shown that swaddling can decrease crying by 42% in infants 8 weeks old or younger. The practice of swaddling also reduces the chance a baby will roll over, reduces the risk of SIDS, helps with the transition to a crib or bassinet, and can also eliminate the need for comfort items in a crib. Swaddling has been shown to help regulate body temperature and can prevent the infant from scratching their face.

Modal-Elastane is a silky soft fabric that is sustainably made from harvested beach trees and can withstand countless washes without pilling, shrinking, or fading. It is more eco-friendly than bamboo. The highly breathable and moisture-wicking Modal ensures optimal airflow to regulate a baby’s body temperature. Importantly, the fabric and fibers are not treated with any chemicals.
