A Business Built at 3am

Mama Coco started the way most honest things do, with a problem nobody had solved yet. Our founder, Megan Skeath, was up in the middle of the night wrestling with snaps and zippers on her own baby's clothes, and she remembers thinking there had to be a gentler way to get through those hours. That thought became the Cocoon Swaddle, our patented, fastener-free design, and it's been the heart of Mama Coco ever since.

We're still bootstrapped. We're still family-run. And every piece we make still starts from that same simple question: what would make this moment easier for the parent living it?

The guide rounds up family-owned businesses across beauty, wellness, home, and lifestyle, each one started by someone who couldn't find what they needed, so they made it themselves. We were honored to be included alongside brands with that same story, from a labor and delivery nurse turned jewelry designer to a family-run ukulele maker in Hawaii. It's a good reminder that small, intentional, family-first businesses are still very much thriving.
